The purpose of this project was to create a program, identify potential funding sources, and write a grant proposal to fund a home that would provide housing for homeless youth. A thorough review of the literature provided knowledge regarding what services would provide the best support for the homeless youth population and their families. Evidence-based programs from the scholarly literature were used by the grant writer to create the proposed Safe House. A search for potential funding sources via the internet and the Long Beach Non-Profit Partnership resulted in the selection of the Ann Jackson Family Foundation as the best potential funding source. A grant was then written to financially support the Safe Home to serve the homeless youth population and their families in Santa Barbara County. Actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not required for successful completion of this thesis.
