InLos Angeles County, there are 33,746 children in foster care; of these, 1,362 are in foster care due to sexual abuse. The literature suggests that children who have been victims of sexual abuse need treatment so that the negative effects of the sexual abuse do not affect them as adults. The purpose of this thesis project was to design therapeutic support groups for children in foster care who have been victims of sexual abuse, identify potential funding sources, and complete a grant proposal to fund the proposed therapeutic support groups which will be based out of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services Pasadena office. The Stuart Foundation was found to be the most suitable foundation for this grant proposal. The actual funding and submission of this grant were not requirements for the successful completion of this academic project.
