The purpose of this project was to obtain research information about the underprivileged children living in Mumbai, India, identify a funding source, locate a grant application, and complete a grant application to fund staffing for Sunshine Kids International, an organization serving St. Catherine's of Sienna, Home and School for Destitute Children.
This grant proposal project's goal was to hire a paid staff that would support Sunshine Kids International and to further their sponsorship program. Currently a small, unpaid, volunteer staff supports Sunshine Kids International. Due to the nature of the organization and its demands, the volunteers are exposed to workplace stressors such as burnout and the organization struggles in capacity building and supporting a solid infrastructure. Due to these roadblocks, a funding source was identified and a grant was written on behalf of the volunteer staff so that they may serve the underprivileged children of Mumbai better. The submission of the grant was not required for this project.
