by Patron, Teresa, M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2011, 62; 1504517
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of the project was to design and write a grant proposal to fund a residential group home that will provide housing and support services for pregnant and parenting adolescents in foster care and their children. The home will be located in the community of East Los Angeles and will provide housing for six residents and their children. An extensive literature review about teen pregnancy, pregnancies among foster youth, and the parenting stress of adolescent mothers in foster care was performed. Families Uniting Families was identified as the hosting agency and the funding source selected was the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
