by Rodriguez, Beatriz, M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2011, 64; 1499297
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this project was to develop a program, identify a potential funding source, and complete a grant application to fund an outreach, education, and assistance program for Latino adults suffering from vision loss or various eye diseases. An extensive literature review about low vision in the Latino community was conducted. After searching for potential funding sources on the internet, the California Endowment was selected as the best funding source for this project. The goal of the project is to improve on-going vision care for Latino adults 45 years and older who suffer from vision loss or various eye diseases by providing education and assistance in receiving appropriate vision care services.
