Abstract (Summary)

My project exhibition SATURATION is made up of nine cel vinyl and acrylic paintings on wood panels ranging in size from 12 inches by 12 inches to 48 inches by 216 inches.

This body of work deals with the overwhelming feeling of anxiety brought on by the current state of the world, as well as the onslaught of information we sort out and the process it takes to understand it. In each panel the figure is trying to navigate the disorder and search for a singular moment of clarity or truth for a sense of balance.

The imagery in my paintings consists of stylized figures in a colored ground. All of these paintings explore a breakdown of the figure on a formal level with line, shape and color used to fragment as well as define the figure.
