by Betancourt, Erika, M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2011, 59; 1499138
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this project was to write a grant to develop and fund an organization for pregnant and parenting teen mothers who are in foster care system. After conducting a thorough review of the literature, the grant writer designed a comprehensive family centered program A Place Called Home.

A Place Called Home will provide pregnant and parenting teens safe housing and supportive services in a family like setting. After searching public and private potential funding sources, The Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was found to have an applicable Request For Application for funding available, identified as closely aligned with the primary goals congruent with the mission of A Place Called Home.

Actual submission and/or funding of the grant were not required for the successful completion of this project.
