The purpose of this project was to create a Therapeutic Recreation Activity Guide containing step-by-step instructions, techniques and tools to instruct parents and professionals on how to improve recreation skills of individuals with disabilities, including children and young adults, and enhancing the overall quality of life.
The result of this project was the creation of a guide using visual supports to instruct social recreation activities. These visual supports may be used to teach pertinent skills of communication and leisure to enhance health, spirituality, independence, fitness, and increase the opportunities for recreation.
