The purpose of this project was to design a program, identify a potential funding source, and complete a grant application to fund the program. The proposed program is a shelter for gay or bisexual male victims of intimate partner violence. The shelter will be located in Los Angeles County and provide emergency assistance, transitional housing, employment services, counseling, and referrals to other resources. An extensive literature about intimate partner violence among gay men was conducted. After searching for potential funding sources on the Internet, the Transitional Housing Assistance Program was selected as the best funding source for this project. A grant was written to fund a shelter in Los Angeles County for gay or bisexual men victims of intimate partner violence.
