Abstract (Summary)

Computer aided education has come a long way since the emergence of the various web technologies from static web pages to dynamic interactive web pages. In early 90s, online learning was text based and non-interactive. Education researchers tried to use video, audio and animation to make online learning more interactive but still it was not as interesting as classroom learning. Virtual learning should be more interactive so that students from around the world can be benefited from this technology. Second Life is a three dimensional interactive application which can be used as a virtual learning or a distance learning tool. Integration of .NET library into Second Life enhances the learning experience. .NET library can be used to parse two-dimensional diagrams and convert them into three-dimensional objects for Second Life.
