Dissertation/Thesis Abstract

Working together to preserve families (WPTF): A grant proposal project
by Boyce, Mark A., M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2011, 111; 1493092
Abstract (Summary)

The objective of this project was to design a program, identify potential funding sources, and write a grant to fund a program for parents who have had their children removed from their care as a result of parental mental illness. An extensive literature review yielded important treatment strategies and current modalities for treatment, especially the systems of care and wraparound philosophies. The information garnered from the literature review was used to design an effective collaborative effort with the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, Orange County Health Care Agency, and Orange County Social Services Agency/Children and Family Services. The program design along with funding request was completed for the proposed collaborative effort.
