The purpose of this project was to design a supportive housing program called The Next Step for female parolees with or without children, to identify a potential funding source, and to complete a grant application to fund the program at the First Congregational Church in the City of Long Beach. The grant was written in collaboration with the Long Beach Community Action Network. The goal of the proposed program is to provide supportive housing that assists female parolees with counseling and case management so that they can learn the skills necessary to have their basic needs met and maintain permanent housing within the city of Long Beach. The securing of founding was not a requirement of this project.
