The purpose of this personal narrative is to share the narrator's experiences of growing up in South Korea, immigrating to the United States as an adult, and living as a Korean immigrant. This narrative conveys the narrator's personal hardships as a first-generation Korean American, particularly the difficulties of settling in the United States. The narrator offers this thesis in hope that it will assist social workers with useful insights when working with the Korean immigrant population.
