Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this thesis project was to describe the decision-making process after an unplanned pregnancy occurs. The project addressed the influences that can impact this decision. This narrative details this author's experience of an unplanned pregnancy, her decision-making process, and her adoption experience. The project describes the author's influences and support system during and after the pregnancy. Additionally, it illustrates this author's growth experience through the adoption process and her decision to pursue an advanced degree in social work. It is believed that the experience described in this narrative is what confirmed this author's dedication to a social work career.
