Searching for Confirmation is a collection comprised of seven short stories. Contrary to what people generally believe regarding "minority" writers, these narratives are not centered around characters confused about their cultural identity, nor are they necessarily about "culture" for that matter; instead, they are an attempt to illustrate how people cope with the disorientation brought about by reality. Regardless of setting or cultural background, the personages in these works grasp for meaning in a world that does not provide answers, and often their solutions, if any, are false.
These pieces are sequenced in the order they were written. Aesthetically, this may not be the ideal manner to present my work, but I feel this is the best way to demonstrate the varying nature of my success while still trying to find my writer's "voice," as it were; furthermore, they maintain the theme of the search in which we all partake.
