ASD: A family approach curriculum

Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this curriculum was to proved psycho education material on the background of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), deciding how to choose service providers, how to modify their current living environment, how to encourage appropriate behavior, and how to assist in language and play skills through motivation, for parent of children 3 to 5 years old newly diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The results of this curriculum provide four modules consisting of a mixture of lecture, group discussion, and hands-on training. These strategies were chosen to meet the various parental learning styles. It is hoped that his curriculum could by used by agencies serving parents of children with ASD.
