by Garza Chapman, Aimee A., M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2009, 38; 1472278
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this project was to locate a potential funding source and write a grant for the Orange County Heart Gallery. The Gallery is a non-profit organization that provides professional photographs and information of children in need of adoptive families There is a critical need to raise awareness for the numerous children awaiting adoption and to locate potential adoptive families. The Gallery relies solely on funds from donations and public assistance. As such, they are often unable to provide current photographs and information of the children. The Gallery would greatly benefit from grant monies that would allow the organization to develop a more structured program.

An extensive literature review was conducted in order to fully understand the importance of finding suitable adoptive homes for children. A grant database search and general Internet search was performed in order to identify the most appropriate funder.
