HIV/AIDS has become a worldwide pandemic. It is important to disseminate information about HIV/AIDS and the prevention of the disease. The development of the Spanish educational manual for the project Protégé to Familia: Hazte la Prueba (Protect Your Family: Get Tested) is an educational tool to be utilized by community health workers in educating Latino/Hispanic communities about HIV/AIDS disease and prevention.
The review of literature revealed that the development of relevant and culturally linguistically educational tools for the Latino/Hispanic community has a positive effect in the communities' responses to health education messages. It was the purpose of the project to provide an educational manual that will be utilized by community-based organizations and that will be receptive to Latino/Hispanics communities' needs.
