Quiet Town is a series of oil paintings on Masonite board ranging from nine inches by eight inches to ten inches by eleven and a half inches. Each painting depicts a surrealistic scene in which objects, both familiar and unfamiliar, are interacting in strange ways with each other and their environment. In each scene the laws of reality are coming apart and normal landscapes are changing and undergoing strange and inexplicable metamorphoses. Objects of a completely alien nature are entering into existence here while the more familiar things are taking completely new forms. The intention of these pictures is to prompt one to question the strange phenomena in each picture and to inspire the viewers' own creative conclusions based on the images.
