Abstract (Summary)

Leaders who attempt to revitalize an underperforming organization face daunting choices as they research methods purported to breathe life into business operations. This research project proposes that executives attempting to accomplish radical entrepreneurial innovation will derive superior organizational performance if they (1) recognize and accommodate workforce's ability to adapt to change and (2) develop processes capable of delivering operational excellence. In this approach, the journey to superior performance is as important as the destination. This project proposes a method to ensure that the workforce understands and believes in the vision of business excellence so change agents can improve and refine operations through assessment, learning, planning, and action. This research will help the target organization plan the activities required to take the organization to its vision of business excellence.
