by Meredith, Sean, M.M., Campbellsville University, 2020, 53; 28259475
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this research study is to conduct a survey of Kentucky band and orchestra directors about program funding, how those funds are utilized in band and orchestra programs, and to acquire an updated account of funding. The updated account will include the various types of funding from the band and orchestra directors in the Kentucky public school system. The survey is intended to inform current secondary band and orchestra directors regarding the amounts of funding music teachers receive from various sources, be it school budget, fundraising, booster programs, program costs, average annual purchases etc., for planning purposes and as a tool for fundraising for needs in the future. General information will also be gathered on ways the programs spend their income and how this affects the money allocation within the program’s school year.
