In the era of computers and programming, artificial intelligence continues to be a quickly evolving paradigm. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the impact of artificial intelligence as well as artificial consciousness on society from the perspective of subject matter experts in artificial intelligence. To this end, interview questions focused on artificial consciousness and the connections between artificial consciousness and artificial intelligence. The study uncovered what experts in the field of artificial intelligence envision will be the impacts of artificial consciousness on society. It also looked at current and emerging trends that may play a role in the evolution of artificial intelligence.
