by Taylor, Cambrea C., M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2020, 89; 27831991
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this thesis was to write a grant proposal seeking funding for the development and implementation of a yoga-mindfulness summer program for youth with an autism diagnosis. The program targets residents living in Los Angeles County. The proposed program also encourages the participation of parents and guardians of individuals with autism to strengthen their relationship through the use of yoga. Through a review of literature that focused on marginalized youth with autism and access to services and assessments, this grant writer proposed and developed the yoga-mindfulness program. This grant writer explored the Foundation Directory Online to select a potential funder, Dwight Youth Stuart Foundation, with a mission that is aligned with the goals and objectives of the proposed program. Actual submission and funding of this program were not required for the successful completion of this thesis.
