The purpose of this grant proposal was to explore funding for the development of a parent supporting program for Latino immigrants. This proposed program will provide an opportunity for Latino immigrant parents to strengthen and establish their social connection with their school-age children. It will provide assistance to parents on engagement instruments in healthy communication within family members, psychoeducation addressing social and emotional needs for children and themselves and developing healthy coping skills to improve social connection.
This grant writer explored funding resources that would sanction this proposal, which steered towards the Reissa Foundation. Due to the needs of this population and commission of this foundation targets, this presented the best fit. The actual submission and funding of this grant was not a requirement for the achievement of the academic thesis.
