Vector Maps Mobile Application to Determine Emissions and Lower Trip Costs

Abstract (Summary)

In this project, a mobile application has been created that will help users lower travel costs and emissions data while providing enhanced trip management tools in an intelligent way. The primary goal of the application is to help users spend less on their trip as well as providing emissions data of their trip. Users input their personal information such as their vehicle details, trip destination. The application then performs algorithms to provide the user with the recommended trips, ranging from least to most expensive, and their respective destination trip time as well as their emissions utilization. All calculated trip costs are based on the current gas prices and toll fees, if applicable. The user is able to navigate to their destination, updating the total trip costs in real time. The emissions data per trip basis is aggregated to provide analytics of emissions usage. Extra features may include artificial intelligence to learn the common trips to better predict the trip costs.
