Every year, thousands of neonates and pediatric patients are care for in intensive care units throughout the United States. Due to technological and medical treatment advancements within these units, utilization continues to increase. NICU admission rates have increased over the last decade. Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) care for critically ill children and have also become for successful at prolonging life and improving the quality of life for children throughout the United States. Parents of children within these units experience a great deal of emotional instability and stress that is pushed aside to focus on the needs of their sick children. Parental Support Oasis strives to create a peaceful concierge environment for parents of NICU and PICU patients at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that will provide them with overnight accommodations and amenities that will work to reduce stress and increase convenience.
