by Romero, Denise, M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2019, 67; 13815237
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this project was to locate a potential funding source and write a grant to formulate a Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program that will decrease burnout among Children Social Workers (CSWs) from Los Angeles County, Department of Children and Family Services, Compton office. An extensive literature review was performed to investigate the best way to prevent and reduce burnout among CSWs. The proposed brief MBSR program will serve as an intervention to reduce or prevent the incidence of burnout and collectively help the organization function better, and enhance the well-being of the community.

The most appropriate funding source would be the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation with collaboration with the Center for Strategic Partnerships, as this agency focuses on navigating funds from the private sector and public sector. The actual submission of this grant was not required for the successful completion of this thesis project.
