by Aceves, Alejandra, M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2019, 61; 13856840
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this project was to seek funding to create integrated support services for LGBTQ youth in school settings. The program aims to improve LGBTQ youths’ health, mental, and social outcomes. The services will be located at Henry T. Gage Middle School in the city of Huntington Park, CA. The grant writer chose the Arcus Foundation as a funding source for the project. If the program is funded, the integrated support services will provide a safe and affirming environment for LGBTQ youth. The program will also provide services such as preventative health education, health screenings, support groups, mental health services, service referrals, and resources. An actual submission of the grant application was not required for successful completion of the thesis project.
