Dissertation/Thesis Abstract

Healing Wounded Hearts: A Grant Proposal
by Adamkowski, Fern Elizabeth, M.S.W., California State University, Long Beach, 2019, 78; 13859922
Abstract (Summary)

The purpose of this grant proposal was to seek funding for the development of a trauma informed healing support group for women, non-binary, and trans-masculine survivors of sexual violence located in Long Beach. The community members around this area will have an opportunity to join the group as well as receive connecting services. Through a review of literature which focused on marginalized populations, health outcomes for survivors of sexual trauma, and comprehensive therapeutic interventions, this grant writer proposed and developed a support group for survivors of sexual trauma.

This grant writer explored various funding sources which yielded The Weingart Foundation. Due to the uniqueness of this proposed group and the special populations with which this foundation focuses on, this was determined to be the best fit. The actual submission and funding of this grant were not required for the successful completion of this academic thesis.
