Abstract (Summary)

In this thesis, I conduct a study on the setting of PID controller parameters. The performance of controllers with PID parameters at various locations of the stabilizing set are compared. The general idea is first to obtain the set of parameters such that the characteristic equation has at least one root on the imaginary axis. This parameter set divides the parameter space into regions, and in each such region the characteristic equation has a fixed number of right-half plane roots.
