by Koblick, River, M.S., California State University, Long Beach, 2017, 68; 10604038
Abstract (Summary)

Atrial fibrillation is the most encountered cardiac arrhythmia and is associated with a 400 to 500% increase in risk for stroke. Medications to prevent mortality from the condition are easily available, but most patients who are prescribed therapy remain non-adherent or sub- or supra-therapeutic. To correct this, ambulatory clinics were formed to better manage these patients and their therapeutic state. Unfortunately, most of these clinics are integrated into health systems and are not available to non-members. To solve this issue at a community level, Cardioventions, Inc. will contract with local providers and care facilities to manage their patients affordably and effectively. Utilizing appropriate staff and current evidence-based medicine, patients with atrial fibrillation can be managed to achieve appropriate therapeutic state to prevent adverse drug events and improve quality of life. This business proposal will outline what is required to begin Cardioventions, Inc. and maintain the business through profitability.
