Abstract (Summary)

This thesis chronicles the journeys of Paris and London from obscurity to fashion greatness. Contemporary marketing techniques and strategies have been analyzed in attempts to reveal how each city’s unique traits are exploited today. Ethnographic study has been paired with interviews of fashion industry professionals resulting in an in-depth analysis of the elements needed to create and sustain the brands of these two fashion cities.
