Abstract (Summary)

A general method of transfer between any two orbits using tangent burns is shown. In particular, it would find use for transfers between two orbits whose apse lines are not necessarily coaxial, where the well known Hohmann transfer does not apply. Since tangent burns between orbits are more efficient, this method may offer an alternative to other methods of transfer, such as the single impulse maneuver.
