Bitcoin Cold Storage wallets are used to properly secure Bitcoin for long term storage. A Cold Storage wallet is a Bitcoin wallet, that contains a private key that has never been exposed to internet access. Bitcoin users like to monitor the balance of their Cold Storage wallet from an online accessible computer, using specialized wallets called "Watch-Only" wallets. However, setting up a Watch-Only wallet can be too technical, and error prone, for non-technical Bitcoin users. Newer technology stacks are currently being used in modern day web ap- plications. One of these stacks, is referred to by the acronym M.E.A.N., and it is becoming useful with next generation real-time web applications. We propose an implementation of a web-based Bitcoin Watch-Only Wallet application, using a M.E.A.N. stack, called the Blockchain Watchdog. We then hypothesize what type of extended functionality can be implemented in the future, so that the Blockchain Watchdog gains user adoption.
