Building on to Orange County’s only Medi-Cal pediatric health network, CHOC Health Alliance, CHA Kids is a proposed new provider network that will service pediatric commercial members. Children in Orange County, ages 0 to 21, who are enrolled in a commercial health plan, would be able to enroll in CHA Kids and access the health care providers with this pediatric network. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) has not only made health insurance mandatory for Americans, but it has also made health insurance more affordable. There are now more consumers with private health insurance, and this business plan will show how CHA Kids intends on utilizing CHOC Health Alliance’s existing resources and expertise in managing pediatric health care to the consumers with commercial health insurance.
