Viktor Kosenko (1896-1938), one of the most significant Ukrainian composers of the first half of the twentieth century, is mostly unknown to the wide circle of listeners beyond Ukraine. This project presents an overview of his most important compositions and life events.
The author provides detailed information on Kosenko's two piano etude cycles, focusing on the interpretation of Passacaglia, the monumental etude from Eleven Etudes in the Form of Old Dances, Op. 19.
