Caviar and Coupons is a collection of poetry told through speakers of different age, gender, and sexualities. The poems utilize imagery, diction, descriptions, pop culture references, and humor found in so-called low culture. Caviar represents the aesthetic or the craft of the work while Coupons is representational of the lower culture aspects found in the poems. Due to my belief that poetry is a strong median for storytelling, many of the poems focus on a long narrative or a small experience. What readers will often find are very opinionated, upfront, and sometimes fearless speakers who share details of their own lives or that of another person.
