The purpose of this project was to locate a potential funding source and write a grant to fund an academic support program for the foster youth at Families Uniting Families, a foster family agency in Long Beach. This academic support program is designed to increase academic performance during the foster youth's stay in foster care. An extensive literature review was performed to investigate the best way to help foster youth achieve successful educational outcomes.
The goals of the proposed academic support program were to improve academic performance and increase knowledge for pursuing higher education. A search was conducted to locate an appropriate funder for the proposed academic support program. The Stuart Foundation was selected as the funder for this project. Actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not required for the successful completion of this project.
