The purpose of this thesis project was to write a grant proposal for the implementation of a program in Orange County, California, that will address the needs of family members of Korean American children with a mental illness. The Korean American Families with Children with Mental Illness program will include outreach and engagement, psychoeducational groups for parents of children with a mental illness, and support groups for siblings of children with a mental illness. An extensive literature review was conducted to determine the needs of Korean American parents and siblings of children with a mental illness. The Weingart Foundation was identified and selected as a potential funding source for the proposed project. The actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not a requirement for the successful completion of the project.
