The goal of this project was to create a developmentally competent mental health program for transitional age youth struggling with the challenges of emerging adulthood; specifically, young adults leaving the child welfare system and the juvenile justice system. The proposed mental health program would enhance the existing educational and occupational services provided to transitional age youth through the Orange County Conservation Corps (OCCC). This program would help promote healthy protective psychological factors and help treat youth with existing or emerging mental health problems through individual therapy, group therapy, and access to psychiatric services.
