Once Long Ago When We Were All the Same is a collection of poetry that explores and utilizes much of what I have studied during the past two years at California State University Long Beach, as well as what I have experienced outside of my formal education. My poems are influenced by everything from the languages, literature, and cultures of Medieval Britain to street drugs to Algebra. I like to think of this collection as the place where academic impulses meet the cadence of a stand-up comedian.
